Participate in my research and influence science by taking part in a short survey.
Your opinion counts!
The aim of this study is to explore how the use of social media relates to socio-political stress and how this stress influences political behavior — including withdrawal, apathy, or engagement.
Data is collected via an anonymous online survey covering media use, stress perception, political attitudes, and coping strategies. The results will contribute to a Master’s thesis in the field of Comparative Democracy Studies.
What is this about?
Social media are shaping the way we engage with politics — but how exactly? This research project explores how digital platforms influence political stress, emotional overload, and our willingness to participate in democratic life.
The project is part of a Master's thesis in Comparative Democracy Studies at Helmut-Schmidt University, Hamburg.
I want to understand:
Your answers will help shed light on the emotional side of political life in the digital age.
This is not just another survey.
It’s your chance to reflect — and to shape how we understand democracy in the digital world.
The survey is conducted using the platform SoSci Survey, which operates in full
compliance with EU data protection
standards on servers located in Germany
After the study is completed, the findings and content of the research can be
requested. However, the dataset itself will not be shared.
How much do social media shape your political thinking?
Take 15 minutes – anonymous, scientific, and meaningful for the future of digital
democracy.
Your perspective matters.
By making my survey multilingual, I hope to reach a diverse audience. Communication in German and English guarantees that everyone has the opportunity to express their opinion.
On this website you will find regular updates on the total number of
participants as the survey
progresses, so that you always have an overview of the relevance of these surveys.
The protection of your data is
important to me. You will find all the necessary information about the handling of personal data and your rights in our consent and data
protection declarations.
Feel free to get in touch!
Whether you're curious about the project, the research goals, or would like to discuss the findings after the study is completed – I'm happy to hear from you.
I will respond as soon as possible.
